In the last thirteen years P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. Museum has created a number of events, actions, exhibitions, interventions; collaborated on artist-in-residence programmes, exhibitions and biennial events of contemporary visual and intermedia arts in Slovenia and abroad. Alongside it has consistently and systematically developed the authorial concept of strategies of “new parasitism”.

Tadej Pogačar (1960) is an artist, curator and artistic director of the P74 Center and Gallery, based in Ljubljana. From 1994 to 1999 he was a chief editor of the M\’ARS magazine, a leading Slovenian magazine for contemporary art. He is a founder and director of the P.A. R.A.S.I.T.E. Museum of Contemporary Art, a virtual critical formation established in 1990. He is theoretician of New parasitism, a model of alternative cultural and social activity. His most recent project involve collaboration with urban social minorities, use of various media, activism and intervention in new public domain.
His work was exhibited widely: 27th Sao Paolo Biennieal, 3rd Tirana Biennial, the 49th Venice Biennial; ZKM Karlsruhe; Museo de Arte Carillo Gil, Mexico City; Central house of Artist in Moscow; Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; B2, Lepzig; MGLC, Ljubljana and Jyvaeskylae Art Museum, Finland. This year his work will be presented at the san Francisco Art Institute and the Istanbul Biennial. He was the Franklin Furnace grant in 2001.
